10 Things You Can Do Right Now to Help:

1.  Get involved! Spread the word and meet your neighbors. We need to build a network and get organized. The first step is building connections, neighbor to neighbor.
   
2. Attend your Community Council Meeting. The meetings are SO valuable and are a great way to meet neighbors and get information.
   
3. Report crime and safety violations. We want our neighborhoods to be safe!
   
4. Volunteer! If you’re passionate about making a difference, we can help you find a way to give back to the neighborhood.
   
5. Start a Neighborhood Watch Chapter. The easiest way to get involved is actually on your street. Keep an eye out for each other and clean up our neighborhoods.
   
6. Write a blog and share your optimism for the area. Tell your friends about what you’re doing to help out the neighborhood.
   
7. Support local businesses. Or open your own business! We have resources to help you!
   
8. Join a Board or Commission. Salt Lake City desperately needs west side residents to participate in city boards such as the Planning Commission, the Business Advisory Board or the Transportation Advisory Board. We NEED to be represented within the City.
   
9. Clean up your yard, or offer to help a neighbor clean up theirs. Beauty and curb appeal are part of this initiative as well.Real change starts at home.
   
10. Enjoy the Jordan River and our beautiful parks and nature trails. The west side of Salt Lake is FULL of charm and nature.Ride your bike along the Jordan River Trail or have a picnic at one of our parks.
